Redneck-Con is a new comic book & mass media event that will be nestled in the Beautiful mountains of southern West Virginia and will feature Creators (both local & out of state) as well has play host to several different media outlets & also a new industry Awards show, there will be contest and gaming events of every kind so be sure to check back here for all the new updates.
Now we think we should take the time to explain the reason behind the Name, the term Redneck has it's root here in W.V. it was used during the coal miners union strikes during the late 30's through the 40's to discribe the coal miners that showed there support of the union by wearing Red Banndana's around their necks, some news paper men started calling them Rednecks, so this convention is named in the spirit of the original meaning being that of someone that's willing to stand up for what they believe in.
